Wee-wee Teepees

Thursday, November 13, 2008

A few weeks ago I was having a yahoo messenger conversation with a friend of mine, about my fear of getting peed on. Its not really a fear, but more of a ... I just don't want to. I've never changed a little boy bubby before. A bubby is what we call a diaper. Where this originated from I'm still not sure, but diapers are known as "bubbys" in our house?

So my friend bought and sent me these...

Thank you Carrie! You are an angel.

You just get super fast at cleaning and rediapering...mine never peed on me, but they did pee on the sitter and my youngest peed right on the doctors monogrammed shirt cuff one time. (It clearly made the nurse's day!)

My girls used to pee about 2 ft straight into the air when I was changing their newborn nappies. I don't know why. I thought I was supposed to escape the pee shooting up in the air thing, as they were girls not boys... maybe my kids just had issues...

The thing is, sister, you've got like a split second before the missile fires. The 'bubby' comes off, the air hits the vulnerable member, and it's all over but the screaming. I don't know where you'd have the time to zero in and cover the potential weapon.

I've got a simple solution.

Just keep a washcloth or a cloth diaper handy on the changing table. Whisk your used bubby off, drape a clean cloth quickly over the exposed flesh, finish task at hand. Saves us every time!

Btw, did I tell you that if we have a girl, she's going to be a Lucy (after my paternal grandmother). It's amazing, sometimes, how much we have in common.

Hate to tell you this, but you're gonna need more than two of those. Unless you're planning to do laundry every 1/2 hour... ;)

Lil' Kay peed on us, on the wall behind the changing table, on his own face...

Fun times.

warning... if there's enough force behind that "release" it will just send those suckers flying! ya might want to hold it in place for a second or two ;-)

Being peed on is not fun... lol. My nephew almost got me when he was new to this world... it was so funny!

Those are so cute!
